There are several activities in Eden Prairie that require a license or permit. It is the responsibility of the resident to know what activities need a license or permit.
Building Contractors/Building Permits

Business Licensing or Regulation
Currently the City does not license or regulate businesses. For State or County licensing, contact the Minnesota Small Business Assistance Office at 651-556-8425.
Dog Licenses
All dogs 6 months or older are required to be licensed with
the City. Dog licenses cost $20 and owners are required to show proof of rabies vaccination upon purchase. The licenses run on a two-year cycle (the current cycle expires Dec. 31, 2010) and must be purchased at the Eden Prairie City Center. To request an application be mailed to you, call 952-949-8300.
Food and Health Issues
If an individual business involves working with food, or if interested in obtaining a Caterer's license, contact Hennepin County Epidemiology & Environmental Health at 952-351-5200.
Gambling
Contact the Gambling Control Board at 651-639-4072 for information.
Home-based Business
To inquire about starting a business out of a home, contact the Zoning Administrator at 952-949-6222 regarding the City's Home Occupation Ordinance.
Solid Waste Collector’s License
