Jon Duckstad was elected to the Eden Prairie City Council in November 2006. His four-year term ends Dec. 31, 2010. This was Jon’s first run at public office, he had also served on the City’s Planning Commission.
His professional career has been as an attorney and adjunct law professor at William Mitchell College of Law. Duckstad is also a past president of the Minnesota Bar Association.
Duckstad was active in St. Paul City government prior to moving to Eden Prairie in 2003. In St. Paul Jon had been on the Charter Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals, Safe and Drug Free School Advisory Council and the Ramsey County Youth Gang Task Force. In addition, Duckstad was an Assistant City Attorney in St. Paul for seven years and a Ramsey County Public Defender for more than three decades.
